Categories & Awards:

* Please note that you can only be registered under one of the categories below. For example, you cannot register for Clydesdale and age group at the same time. Participants must select their category when they register. Changes cannot be made to categories once the race starts. It would not be fair to other participants if we let people change groups once the results have been posted and they had a chance to see in which category would result in a higher standing.

* Categories may vary for Multirace timed events that are part of the Triathlon Series. Multirace timed events are Huntington's Disease Triathlon, Loggerhead Triathlon and Tropical Triathlon.

Awards:
Awards are given 5 deep in all categories in the half and 3 deep in all categories in the International. Special awards will be given to the Top 3 Overall Males, Top 3 Overall Females, Top 3 Master Males (40+), and Top 3 Master Females (40+).  Those receiving overall and master awards are removed from their age groups, bumping everyone else up in the age group standings. There is no double dipping.  If you qualify for overall, you cannot get another award for masters overall or your age group. Pro/Elite participants only qualify for overall and masters overall awards.

Please stay for the awards ceremony if you are due an award. Unclaimed awards may be picked up at future races and will not be mailed.

Series awards are given 5 deep to all categories except male and female overall and male and female master overall.  Participants must compete in at least 6 races to be eligible for series awards.  Final series standings are based on the best 6 of 13 races, with bonus points awarded for each race completed beyond 6 races.  Points are based on USA Triathlon's own ranking system with some modifications.  Go to http://www.usatriathlon.org/Rankings/rankings_intro.htm for information on USAT's ranking system.  Our modifications are as follows:

+2% for Multirace.com owned events
+2% for International/Olympic distance events
+4% for Half Iron distance events (USAT already allocates +2%, so we adjust up another 2%)
+2% for Regional Championship events (July 4th Duathlon, November 13th Half Iron)

Each race completed beyond 6 will receive bonus points equal to 5% of the points value for 7th through 13th best race.  The best 6 races are scored at 100% of their points value.
