March 4, 2007 - Battle of the Sexes Duathlon -
REGISTER
Women get a 6 minute head start. Can the guys catch
them???? Everything is the same
as a normal duathlon, except that the women start first by 6 minutes making for
a fun format!
Event Information:
Race Day Registration & Packet Pickup is from 5:30 a.m. to 6:30
a.m. Arriving after 6:30 a.m. may cause you to miss the race. *Save
money by pre-registering!
Race Starts at 7:00 a.m. SHARP!
Distances: 1.75 mile run, 10 mile bike, 1.75 mile run
Registration:
Please pre-register for all events. Race day registration will
be limited and more expensive.
Packet Pickup:
You may pick up your packets, race numbers, and t-shirts early to
avoid lines on race day. PER USAT RULES - YOU MUST PICK UP YOUR OWN
PACKET - NO EXCEPTIONS. Early packet pickup times are Saturday from noon
until 4 p.m. on the corresponding event weekend. Please bring your
receipt from online registration. You must present your annual USAT
license at packet pickup along with a photo ID or fill out the one-day USAT
form and pay $10 for a one-day license. Timing chips can only be picked
up on race morning, however this is very quick with no lines or waiting:

Directions: From I-75, take Royal Palm Blvd west, to Weston Road north,
to Indian Trace Blvd east (three traffic lights), to SW 160th Ave. Turn
north on to SW 160th Ave (before you pass over I-75!). We're in the
Indian Trace Center next to the Weston-8 Movie Theater at 1334 SW 160th
Ave.
Fees:
$45 - Online registration 7 days in advance
$50 - Registration by mail 7 days in advance ONLY
$50 - Online registration week of race (no mail in registrations accepted race
week)
$60 - Race day
+$20/race - For 2 person relay teams (includes extra t-shirt & plaque, if
top 5) - add $10 for 3rd person in relay for t-shirt (no plaque)
$299 - 8 Sprint Duathlon Package, Savings of $181 (38%) over race day
$495 - 10 Duathlon Package (8 sprints, 1 Olympic, 1 Half Iron), Savings of $300
(38%) over race day
$10 - One-day USAT license (required if participant is not an annual USAT
license holder)
We highly recommend that all participants purchase an annual USAT license
rather than a single day license. The cost is $39 and provides the holder with
insurance for all USAT sanctioned events for an entire year. It also comes with
many other benefits and coupons for on-line purchases. See
www.usatriathlon.org for more information. Fees from a single one-day
license may be applied to the purchase of an annual license, so keep your
receipt.
Directions:
Take I-75 to the Royal Palm Blvd exit. Turn right at the first
stoplight (Weston Road). Continue on Weston Road until it ends at Markham
Park.

Course Description:
Markham is well known for its technical mountain biking trails, but it is an
excellent place to road ride as well. We will be doing 3
laps on the bike inside the park, 3.33 miles each.
The run course is a scenic loop that runs around the southern lake.
