Awards & Race Shirts

All finishers will receive a custom designed finisher’s medal declaring you as a triathlon or duathlon finisher!    We feel that finishing a triathlon or duathlon of any distance is a great accomplishment that you should be proud of. This is just another reason to race with MultiRace!  In addition, awards are given to the top 3 finishers in all categories.  Those receiving overall and master awards are removed from their age groups, bumping everyone else up in the age group standings.  There is no double dipping.  If you qualify for overall, you cannot get another award for masters overall or your age group.  Pro-Elite participants only qualify for overall awards.  All participants will also receive a custom designed Race Shirt at Packet Pickup. Collect them all!

Splash and Dash

A Splash and Dash (aquathlon) is a fun and fast-growing sport that combines swimming and running. USA Triathlon’s Splash and Dash Youth Aquathlon Series will feature a swim/run combination.

The USA Triathlon Splash and Dash Youth Aquathlon Series will be returning for its sixth year as a national series and is open to youth ages 7-15. There will be fifty (50) events in total across the country and Egg Hunt Triathlon is thrilled to be one of the fifty-two (52) events selected through an application process!
The focus of the series is on PARTICIPATION rather than competition. The Series will expose youth participants to USA Triathlon and the exciting world of multisport.
Participants ages 7-10 will swim approximately 100m followed by a 1k run while participants ages 11-15 will swim approximately 200m followed by a 2k run.
The event is sanctioned by USA Triathlon which means course maps, staff, and a medical plan, among other items, have been reviewed and approved by USAT.

The Splash and Dash Youth Aquathlon Series:

  • Exposes and educates youth to the multisport lifestyle, all while being involved in a fun, exciting, and safe atmosphere! It will really help you to “get your feet wet!”

  • Creates an opportunity for participants to meet friends and other youth athletes who are interested and also engage in the multisport lifestyle!

  • Requires less equipment required compared to that of a triathlon since a Splash and Dash (aquathlon) does not require a bike and other biking components.

Be prepared for a great experience, bring a positive attitude, and be ready to learn firsthand about multisport!

USAT Sanctioned Event
MultiRace is proud to announce that all 2017 Triathlon/Duathlon events will be sanctioned by the USAT!

VOLUNTEERS

Volunteering is FUN, and our races would not be possible without our many awesome volunteers.  Volunteers can raise funds for a charity of their choice, or earn $10/hour volunteered in Race Credit (can be applied to any MultiRace event). If it's community service hours you need, we are happy to help!  Race credit earned is transferable, so come out and help your favorite athlete(s) race.

Volunteers are always needed for the following tasks:

  1. Setup (day before race)
  2. On-Course: Water Stations, Finish Line, Back-up Timing and more
  3. Breakdown and Cleanup

Please email info@multirace.com in order to sign up as a volunteer for our events.   Volunteer registration is open for individuals, coaching groups, teams and not for profit groups.  Register to volunteer and invite your group members to join in the fun!

It will be necessary to fill out and supply a USAT volunteer waiver,  available to download here (PDF) when volunteering at our triathlons and duathlons. In order to insure your race credit is applied, please check-in and check-out with the volunteer coordinator, and give them your name, birthdate, phone number, and email address. Race credits are cumulative and never expire!

COURSE

This triathlon features a 1/4 mile swim, followed by a 11 mile bike with no road crossings and an entire lane closed to traffic, then finishes with a 3.1 mile closed course run inside beautiful CB Smith Park.

SWIM COURSE

The swim is a 1/4 mile swim in CB Smith’s lake.  It is a great race for first timers as the water is flat with no current or waves, so it makes for an easy swim.

BIKE COURSE

The bike course starts by turning left at the end of the road to/from the transition area.  It then makes a counter-clockwise loop around the inside of CB Smith Park.  It then exits CB Smith Park and goes south on Flamingo.  Riders will turn right and head west on Pines to the first right turn and continue staying on the right as they circle around the outside of the park.  We turn right at all intersections and all roads have 2 or more lanes, so the course is extremely safe even though it goes outside of the park.  After circling the outside of the park in a clockwise fashion, riders re-enter the park and do it all 1 more time.  The bike course is 5.5 miles and we will do 2 laps consisting of an inside loop, then an outside loop, then an inside loop, then another outside loop.

RUN COURSE

The run course goes along the path surrounding the lake in a clockwise fashion.  Triathletes will complete 2 laps here as well to make 3.1 miles.  The duathlon will start with 1 run lap and finish with 1 run lap.
