Awards

All half marathon and 10K finishers will receive finisher medals. In addition, awards are given to the top 3 finishers in all categories in both the half marathon and 10K run. Special awards will be given to the Top Overall Male, Top Overall Female. Those receiving overall and master awards are removed from their age groups, bumping everyone else up in the age group standings. There is no double dipping. If you qualify for overall, you cannot get another award for masters overall or your age group.

Please stay for the awards ceremony if you are due an award. Unclaimed awards may be mailed if requested within 2 weeks after the event. You must pay $9 for shipping and handling. Go to the results of your race and click Mail next to your name to request your award. There is no other option to get an unclaimed award.

Race Photos

Photographers will be on site and course as well as before and after the race. You’ll be able to view and order your photos within 3 to 4 days after the race. Here are some suggestions on ways to make the most of your race photos:

  • Display your number: Wear your race number in a place that it can be easily seen (the center of your chest works well). Your bib number is used to identify your photos so remember to keep your number on a layer of clothes that can be seen.
  • Freak Out: Make a face, smile, yell or wave at our photographers!
  • Celebrate: As you take your final strides across the finish line, look up, put your hands in the air or congratulate your running buddy – whatever you do, try not to block your number by looking down at your watch.
  • No tailgating: At the photographers and especially at the finish, don’t crowd up right behind another runner. Run in your own space if possible and you’ll help us get a better shot.
Communication for people with Disabilities: Call (954) 213 6699 or email info@multirace.com to request material in accessible format, information on access for persons with disabilities, or a sign language interpreter (7 days in advance).

VOLUNTEERS

Not only is Volunteering FUN,  but our races would not be possible without our many awesome volunteers! Volunteers can raise funds for a charity of their choice, or earn $10/hour volunteered in Race Credit. If it's community service hours you need, we are happy to help! Race credit is transferable, so bring your friends and family to help you race for free!

Volunteers are always very much appreciated and can be extremely helpful in the following areas:

Setup (day before race)

On-Course: Water Stations, Finish Line, Back-up Timing and more

Breakdown and Cleanup

It will be necessary to fill out and supply a USAT volunteer waiver, available to download here (PDF) when volunteering at our triathlons, and a USATF volunteer waiver, available to download here (PDF) for our running races. In order to insure your race credit is applied, please check-in and check-out with the volunteer coordinator, and give them your name, birthdate, phone number, and email address. Race credits are cumulative and never expire, so volunteer all you want!  Race credits can also be used at our Premier Events, including the KB Half, Miami Man and the Key West Triathlon!

COURSE

Race participants depart from the City of Miami, Historic Virginia Key Park and Picnic Area (HVKP) onto Arthur Lamb Jr. Road (ALJ) traveling in a southern direction and turning right onto the Rickenbacker Causeway. The race continues to travel in a westerly direction (towards the mainland) on the north side of the causeway to Hobie Island center median. At this point, runners U-turn and travel back in an easterly direction to Crandon Park "Lot #1" entrance continuing into the park for a short distance then traveling easterly back to the point of origin.  During the event, vehicular traffic is routed onto the south side (Miami Seaquarium side) of the causeway in a counter-flow manner, from the Crandon Park maintenance loop (Calusa Circle), to Hobie Island center median. Finish line and post-race awards ceremony takes place within the City of Miami's HVKP area.
