MULTIRACE 101
Purpose:
The Triathlon 101 clinic was created to help new triathletes
and duathletes learn the things they need to know to successfully and safely
complete a triathlon. The course is a requirement for any first time
triathlete wishing to receive a finisher's medal at a Multirace.com event, but
is open to anyone with question or just looking to expand their knowledge on
Triathlon. It is also recommended to anyone that is new to each
particular venue as the Saturday courses will include a course tour. Show
up about 20 minutes late if you only want the course tour and transition
practice.
Instructor:
Your instructor for this course is Martin (Marty) Frezza who has been doing
triathlons since the very beginning and has completed over 30 iron distance
events including 7 consecutive world championships in Kona.
When & Where:
There will be 1 course before each race. The course will occur on
Saturday before each race (except July 4th) at noon at each respective race
venue. This course is will have plenty of time for questions and will
allow participants to pre-ride the course (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED) and practice
their transitions. If you cannot make the course before your race, please
try to attend the course before a different race.
Finisher Medals:
Anyone that completes the Triathlon 101 clinic will get a sticker to put on
their race number that will signify that they completed the course. Once
you cross the finish line at the end of your triathlon with that sticker on
your number, you will receive a First Timer Finisher Medal to officially
declare you a TRIATHLETE or DUATHLETE!
